Just over a kilometre from Sogndal you will find the beautiful Amlasanden Fjordcamping. They have a number of electric sites on a large grassy area, but if you want to stay right on the water you will have to do without electricity. Here, however, the view is at its finest so we chose views over electricity. A tip when you go here is to take the road along the water from the community of Amla. We entered the address on the GPS and were then directed to a narrow and winding road from a bit outside the community. Fortunately, we did not meet any other car on the way down, it would hardly have been possible to pass. Everyone else probably took the other, wider road. 🙂
The pitches are not bookable, but you stand on a free pitch and pay with Vipps or Paypal. The campsite is unmanned, but every evening a host passes by and you can then pay with a regular payment card.
The campsite has a very nice service building with toilets, showers and washing machine. Outside the building there are sinks, washing-up facilities and fresh water. A short distance away from the house is grey and black water drainage.
We liked Amlasanden a lot. It is a cosy place with a relaxed atmosphere and good facilities. Another nice thing is that they have a small cabinet where you can buy locally produced goods such as honey, apple juice and the like.
