Destination Apelviken, Varberg

Classic camping by the sea.

We are perhaps not so much in favour of traditional campsites where motorhomes and caravans are lined up in long rows. We actually prefer smaller nature campsites and pitches, but sometimes you end up at larger campsites for practical reasons. There's really everything you need when you've been travelling for a while. There are fresh service buildings with dishwashers and there is even a robot that cleans the toilet tank. This was well approved by Rendahl's latrine manager, ie not me. 🙂

This is a huge campsite, so big in fact that they don't call themselves a campsite but a Destination Apelviken. In addition to a nice swimming area, there are two restaurants, swimming pool, grocery store, surf centre and much more. It's only a couple of kilometres to Varberg town centre if you get tired of hanging around the campsite.

We only stayed one night here and it may not really be the place for us. However, a positive surprise was the restaurant Solviken which was surprisingly good for a campsite. We had a nice evening with good food accompanied by a good band playing.
