”Hello again, Rendahls here, how are you enjoying the summer heat? It's getting hot here, but even more heat is on the way. ☀️

Now we have left the fairytale villages behind us and travelled down to Colmar. This is also a fairytale town but in a slightly larger format. We have parked our dear Bobbo at City Camp a few kilometres outside the city and picked up the bikes.

Colmar is a truly beautiful city, with both the old town centre and an area called Little Venice. It's also big enough to just wander around. If you want to take a break, there are wine bars, ice cream parlours or small shops selling cakes and nougat everywhere. So no need to get lost. 😋 After all the wine, we went for the sweet treats instead and what better than our second favourite, ice cream! Gosh what ice cream we have eaten in the heat! On 1177 it actually says that you should eat and drink cold when it's hot outside. So the doctor's order. 😉

When you're tired of ice cream and half-timbered houses, visit the Colmar Chocolate Museum. It's both educational and a flavourful experience. 🍫 You'll learn all about cocoa production and chocolate making in an interactive way. You can feel, smell and listen your way through the museum. Here and there you can also play and compete in different ways, super fun! Finally, and perhaps best of all, you can eat as much chocolate as you like!

We would also like to recommend a restaurant we found, Le Petit Bidon. It is run by a family where the father is in the kitchen while mother and son serve the guests. So charming with all these family-owned businesses. It is wonderful to see how they care for each other within the family and how they include their guests in the family feeling. When we were about to order, the mum proudly sent her son over and explained in somewhat stumbling English that he was so good at the language. That's nice to see. 💜

This is just a small selection of what we found in Colmar. If you want to read more, check out Rendahls.se. Link is in the comments

Have a great week!
