In Øvre Eidfjord, just north of Hardangervidda, you'll find the cosy campsite Myklatun. It's a slightly simpler campsite but it's beautifully situated by a lake and if you're lucky you can get one of the nicest pitches right by the water. The pitches are not bookable but there are plenty of places and you can stand wherever you want. Electricity is available almost everywhere, it all depends on how long a cord you brought with you or manage to borrow together.
It is only possible to pay with cash or Vipps so remember to have cash with you, it is probably a good distance to the nearest ATM. We had no cash, however, it turned out that the owner had a Swedish friend so we could solve the payment via Swish. Good with solution focus!
The service centre is simple but there are toilets, showers and kitchen, everything is clean and in order. In addition to the campsite, they also have a number of cottages for rent.
About six kilometres from the campsite, Voringsfossen is a famous tourist destination. The cosy little village of Eidfjord is also nearby and well worth a visit.
