Hello again to all life lovers!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are finally in France! \"\ud83c\uddeb\ud83c\uddf7\" We are immediately struck by how wonderfully French everything is. The villages are beautiful, the food is good, everyone drinks wine with<\/a>nchen and very few speak English. A few months before we left Sweden, I tried to revive my school French through the Duolingo app and many times I've had time to swear that I dropped out of French in eighth grade. Imagine how much fun it would have been to be able to order something from the menu in a sounding French with a screeching R. Now it mostly sounds like something like \"\u00f6n glas d\u00f6 cremant sill v\u00e5 pl\u00e4t\". But then, someone once said that you're only on holiday when you can't understand what's on the menu. In that case, we're on holiday now. \"\u263a\ufe0f\" By the way, the best language confusion occurred when I accidentally ordered one of each on the dessert menu. Good thing we like sweets! \"\ud83d\ude0b\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our trip to France starts in Alsace, where the pretty villages are strung like a string of pearls along the Route de Vine, only a few kilometres apart. The villages are small and usually have only a few thousand inhabitants. Several of these villages are also designated Villes de fleures, for their floral splendour, which makes them extra beautiful. \"\ud83c\udf38\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We've already been round so many villages that it's almost impossible to tell one half-timbered house from another, but two of the towns really stand out and they are Bergheim and Eguisheim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bergheim is incredibly neat and beautiful, and there are not as many tourists as in the most famous cities, Ribouville and Colmar. The fact that there are also several good winemakers here does not make matters worse. We strolled around here for a couple of hours, had a fantastic lunch and happened to sneak into a really professional wine tasting for wine merchants. \"\ud83c\udf77\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eguisheim is special because it is built around its ring wall. Watch the film and you will understand what we mean. We walked here after an evening with a winemaker in the neighbouring village of Wettolshein. By the way, it's a good motorhome tip in France, look for winemakers who have pitches, for example on Park4Night, super nice! \"\ud83d\ude90\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was incredibly hot to walk along the vineyards but clearly worth it when we arrived at the exciting village. I have never seen a village that goes round in a circle before. Here and there are detours down to the village square where there are restaurants and cafes. It is said that the film Beauty & the Beast is set in the villages of Alsace and here you can really imagine Belle walking along the streets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
