When you visit a municipality named Sola, you have to live on the beach. Even though the sun was not shining brightest on this day, it was lovely to stay at Ølberg camping with the sand dunes sheltering from the slightly fresh sea wind of the day.
The campsite is not bookable but you simply have to turn up on time and hope to get a pitch. In the reviews, we read that some guests had comments that there were not excellent places for motorhomes, but you had to find your own place. This may give a slightly messy impression, but on the other hand, you get to choose exactly the spot you want.
The campsite has two service buildings with toilets, showers, washrooms and laundry. It can be a bit crowded when the campsite is fully booked but now it was perfectly ok. Outside there are emptying points for grey and black water.
As Ølberg Camping is part of an outdoor area, there are plenty of things to do. In addition to swimming, you can rent canoes, go hiking or visit some of the outdoor centres in the area. There is also a restaurant and café next to the campsite.
