Just outside cosy Söderköping you'll find Stegeborg harbour, with its castle ruins as a backdrop to the beautiful archipelago. There are 63 pitches with electricity, all of which can be booked in advance at Stegeborgs. website. The locations are scattered around the harbour or on Slottsholmen and are of slightly different characters. We thought it was cosiest on Slottsholmen, where we also got a corner spot with our own little peninsula.

Most pitches have their own lawn and hedges or bushes around them, giving you a certain amount of privacy. If you want to go all out, you can book the luxury pitch of 100 sqm, with a gigantic wooden deck, your own outdoor kitchen and shower. Those of us who haven't booked this pitch have to make do in the service building, which was newly built, clean and tidy. We didn't find a kitchen, but there was an outdoor area for washing up. There are several places where you can refill water, and also space for grey water disposal and chemical toilets. They also have a machine for the toilet tank. Perfect for chucking in the nasty box and getting a clean tank a couple of minutes later.

While you're there, don't miss visiting Stegeborg Castle ruins. You can walk around the old ruins and listen to an audio guide with Herman Lindqvist telling you about the castle's exciting history. Definitely worth a visit!
