In Pyhäjoki, a little over an hour from Oulu, you will find this cosy parking space. Like so many campsites and motorhome pitches in Finland, this one is lush and green, and of course, there's at least one sauna. In this case, a brand new and really nice version with a view of the rapids just outside.
The pitches can be booked via Park4Night or the Finnish app Matkaparkki. There are certain designated pitches that are booked via the apps, but there are also a number of drop-in pitches. You can choose with or without electricity. There are two roads into Kielo, one of which goes over an old wooden bridge that cannot handle excessively high or heavy motorhomes. Check which route to take before you arrive.
All facilities are on-site and it is clean and well-maintained, even though it is a bit worn. There is also a small pub and ice cream bar right by the water. We didn't try the food, but the ice cream was good and the service was very friendly.
If you want to barbecue, there are nice barbecue spots set up along the rapids so you can barbecue with a view.
