To the east of Tromsö, you will find the Arctic Lyngen Fjord with its mighty mountains, also known as the Lyngen Alps. Overlooking these mountains lies Lyngen Tourist Camping down in a small valley. It's a rather large campsite with a motley crew of cottages, seasonal campers, tents and motorhomes. Because the campsite is so steep, it doesn't feel cramped and the owner helps you find the best spot according to your wishes. The view is truly breathtaking.
As a campsite it naturally has all the facilities and, as a bonus, washing machines too. Some of the facilities may have been a bit old, but they were clean and well-maintained. The owner also mentioned that he would be building new service buildings soon, so perhaps it will be brand new when you arrive.
The places cannot be booked online, but you can always call beforehand and they will hold a spot for you.
